Admittedly, 3D Touch is a really cool feature on the iPhone 6s — once you remember to use it, that is — so it is no surprise that big companies have been updating their apps to use the feature. Facebook has already added the 3D Touch support to the app icon, giving you quick access to writing a post or uploading a photo, but the company promises more features … but you need to be patient.
Facebook is bringing 3D Touch functionality within the app itself, for some nifty peek-and-pop action on links, profiles, cover photos and other things. However, these will be ever-so-slowly rolled out. Facebook is particularly notorious in the phased rollout of its updates, but it’s really surprising that something like this needs to be phased. My guess is that the company is experiment with the technicalities in counting views and impressions during the peek-and-pop phase for advertising, but I might be wrong.
The good news is that these features may be coming. The bad news is that you will wait months for they to appear, and by then you’d probably have forgotten about this article altogether.
