Facebook launches ‘Music Stories’ with Apple Music and Spotify

Facebook has been enhancing its news feed with a lot of new features to keep users glued to its network. A new addition to these enhancements is’ Music Stories.’

Music Stories (exclusive to iOS at the moment) turns anything  you share from Apple Music or Spotify to a 30 second clip that can be played from within the Facebook app. There’s also an option to continue listening through the service the song was shared from or save for later.

Facebook says its looking to add more music services in the future.

Songs and albums shared from the leading music services will become ‘Music Stories,’ a new post format which allows people to listen to a 30-second preview of the shared song (or album) while on Facebook. The preview is streamed from either Apple Music or Spotify (depending on the source of the link shared), and can be purchased from or saved to the respective music streaming service, said Facebook product director Michael Cerda.

There’s no clear indication on when this feature will launch on Android or other platforms yet.
