Dubai Internet City (DIC), has announced that it is the headline partner for droidcon Dubai, and will bring the world’s biggest android developer conference to the Emirate for the first time from April 14-16 2015.
droidcon Dubai will gather the tech community to learn about the latest Android advances, hear about innovative new technologies from expert speakers and network with people from across the tech and Android industry. The event will further drive the development of the UAE’s start-up landscape by giving talent access to industry leaders, encouraging new ideas, and nurturing innovation.
droidcon has grown to become one of the world’s biggest tech events, with thousands of attendees every year across five continents. Following very successful conferences in locations around the world including Berlin, London, New York and Moscow, Dubai, with its growing tech and developer community, is a natural choice as the newest destination to host the conference. The event will be the GCC’s largest community-driven Android developer conference, and will welcome experts from Microsoft, PayPal, Blackberry, Intel, Groupon, and Facebook to give talks and host workshops.
droidcon Dubai follows a series of events and initiatives headlined by Dubai Internet City this year, including Decode Dubai, DIC’s first hackathon and Drones for Good, an initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum at the Government Summit 2015 held at DIC. DIC is at the forefront of the National Innovation Strategy and continues to encourage innovation and creativity within the technology and ICT sector.
