Cars driven remotely using a smartphone app won’t be restricted to James Bond movies anymore and could be coming soon to a Land Rover dealer near you.
Land Rover UK has recently developed a Range Rover prototype vehicle that can be controlled by a smartphone app. According to the car maker, the prototype will allow drivers to navigate rough terrains, park in tight spots, accelerate, brake and change gears.
At the moment, the feature will limit the car’s speed to 6 km/h and the smartphone app will have to be at least within 10 meters.
A second prototype was also revealed, capable of doing a 180-degree multi-point turn. Check the demo out in the video below.
