Dr Suleiman Al Habib hospital in Dubai goes all digital

Doctors at the newly opened Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Medical Group hospital in Dubai are going all digital in a bid to improve patient care and treatment, with usage of Google Glass and tablets.
The hospital is completely paperless. When the patient comes for the first time, he needs to register with his Emirates ID just once and if he visits again, he needs to give a fingerprint scan and we would immediately have access to all of his records on his phone, said the CEO of the healthcare City-based hospital in Dubai, Nasser Al Huqbani.
The hospital has also invested in other technologies like the installation of 14 smart beds. The beds can be programmed to rotate into a different angle to create more for comfort. If a patient gets out of their bed, an automatic alarm goes off at the nurses’ station.

Dr Rina Mounla, a consultant neonatologist, said the hospital aims to keep patients under a watchful eye at all times, including newborn babies. She said:
There’s a camera on top of each bed in the nursery and the mother of the baby can watch her baby even when she’s in her own room – so can the nurses. This helps the mothers feel closer to their babies, because mothers don’t want to be separated from them.
