It appears that the drone delivery concept is getting more attention and traction as time passes. DHL has announced that it has tested out a drone delivery system, which the company says it might roll out soon.
The DHL parcelcopter test program will be limited to a small island called Juist in Germany at the moment and restricted to medications and other urgently needed goods. The drone will operate at an altitude of approximately 50m and will fly at a speeds of up to 18 m/s.
DHL’s drone delivery project has been under development for almost a year now with rivals UPS and Amazon also testing similar projects.
