Ever wanted to play Android games or run Android apps on a PC? Console OS, now gives you an easy option.
Console OS is an operating system based on Android 4.4 KitKat which can run on computers with Intel Core or Atom processors. The operating system can be installed as a standalone or be configured as a dual-boot option to run with Windows.
Console OS can be installed using a USB flash, requires a computer with a 64-bit UEFI that has Secure Boot disabled and only supports computers with Intel Bay Trail processors as well as machines with Sandy Bridge, Ivy Bridge, or Haswell chips. (Install instructions in the release notes and compatibly list here).
The developers of Console OS are working on an updated version of the operating system based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Console OS started as a project in a crowdfunding campaign in 2014, and is now officially released under OS Developer Release 1 which can be downloaded for free here.
