Citi bank UAE has launched contactless cards in collaboration with MasterCard. Contactless payments are transactions that do not require physical contact between the credit card and the terminal.
At Citi, we want to give our clients state-of-the-art technology, and one of our priorities has been revolutionising the card payment space. Payments using contactless cards are faster, more convenient and more secure. We want to create an intuitive experience that uses contactless payment technology to give our consumers a complete and interactive experience wherever they are, said Dinesh Sharma, Citi’s Consumer Banking Head in the Middle East.
The new contactless payments can be made at thousands of merchant across the UAE with by holding the card in front of the contactless terminal with a tap for items up to AED 100 and a tap with PIN for larger items.
