Google announced the end of Chrome support for Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7 and 10.8 by April 2016.
Such older platforms are missing critical security updates and have a greater potential to be infected by viruses and malware, said Google.
Google also said that current versions of Chrome “will continue to function on these platforms” after support stops, but it encourages users to upgrade to the newer operating systems.
