Automation and robotics company Festo is playing around with a new super-light drone that looks and moves like a butterfly, and to make thing even better, the company says multiple butterfly drones can fly at the same time as a group in full harmony.
eMotionButterflies rely on advanced light plastic wings to get airborne and stay there, each one is controlled by a servo, allowing the drone to maneuver in the air freely.
The butterflies can fly independently with the assistance of an indoor GPS system guided by infrared sensors and cams.
Unfortunately, these butterflies aren’t for sale and are just demos part of a research platform.
