Asus Transformer 3 series takes on Microsoft’s Surface Pro

With the ZenBook 3 positioned against Apple’s Macbook and Macbook Air, Asus released yet another series during Computex 2016, and this time aimed at Microsoft directly.

Meet the Transformer 3 series

Starting with the Transformer 3 Pro 2-in-1 notebook, Asus is obviously aiming to take on Microsoft’s Surface 4 Pro. The Transformer 3 Pro is 9.35mm thick, has a Core i7 processor, 1TB  SSD, and 16 GB of RAM.

The display is 12.6-inch with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 at 275ppi. There’s a USB Type-C port, a Thunderbolt 3 port and HDMI output. There’s also a 13MP rear camera and a front camera that supports Windows Hello.

The Asus Transformer 3, the Pro’s smaller brother is thinner at 6.9mm and has a 12.6-inch screen with 2880 x 1920 resolution, runs on 7th generation Core i7 processors with Storage up to 512GB SSD, 8GB of RAM and packs four internal Harmon Kardon speakers.

The last model of the series is the Transformer Mini. Weighing only  790g with its keyboard, the Mini is said to be the lightest 2-in1 around. Transformer Mini is 8.2mm thick and has a 10.1-inch screen.
