Asus is apparently in the works to change the battery life game on smartwatches. Asus CEO Jonney Shih hinted during an event that Asus’ next smartwatch may last a whopping 7 days on a single charge.
The ZenWatch is defined by us as a companion to a smartphone, and we think it still has a lot of room for improvement, as a companion device, its central processing unit and operating system should be more simplified than the current version, so that I can use it for up to seven days on one charge, rather than for just two days, Shih said.
The current standard for battery life on smartwatches is between 1 and 2 days.
So will we see Asus moving away from Google Wear for a more “simplified OS”? Tizen maybe? It’s still unclear whether Asus will take this road or not.
