When it comes to Chromebooks, the one definite fact we know about them is that information about them always leaks. The Asus Chromebook has fallen prey to this dilemma as a listing for the Asus C302CA was posted on Newegg yesterday. The listing leaked the full specifications and some further details about Asus’ latest Chromebook.
According to the now removed listing, the Asus Chromebook C302CA offers a 12.5-inch, 1080p touchscreen display that can flip around to use the device as a 2-in-1 convertible tablet. When it comes to the guts of the device, it’s powered by a 2.2 GHz Intel Core m3 processor that is complemented by 4GB of RAM. Storage-wise, users get 64GB of (presumably) SSD space.
And following in the footsteps of the MacBook Pro, the Asus C302CA has shunned USB 3.0 and has instead opted for two USB-C ports. Other I/O ports include a microSD card slot.
It’s unsure if these are the final specs of the model, or if there will be variants offering more RAM and storage space. However, with CES around the corner, those questions will soon be answered.
Update:
The actual release date of this device will be January 5th, 2017 – the first day of CES in Las Vegas.
