Of course, happier employees produce more and are more efficient, but to actually know if an employee is happy or not is a challenge.
Enter Hitachi.
Hitachi High Technologies came up with a wearable sensor called Human Big Data that employees can wear to let their managers know how happy they are. The wearable device will have sensors that can detect and record when an employee is sitting, standing, typing, it can even record a conversation and measure how long it lasted.
The card-sized sensor device collects data at a rate of 50 times a second and sends it back to a base which outputs the happiness level of the person, giving managers a better picture on how to improve performance and employee satisfaction.
You can kiss your privacy at work goodbye….
This wearable will go on sale from April 2015 in Japan $845. Hitachi will roll out the device globally later.
