The weekend is here, got no plans and you just want to hangout with friends but don’t know who’s free? Well now, there’s an app for that.
Free is a new app that would tell you about your friends’ availability and vice versa. The app, developed by Danny Trinh, former lead designer at Path is designed to make hang-out intentions public. You can see if friends are free to hangout or looking to hangout with other parties.
Trinh vision is simple, he said, he wants to build the modern, mobile version of the green dot from AIM.

The designers built six versions of Free in the course of its development with different ways to broadcast availability while trying not to give the impression of being too desperate. With the final version of Free, users will be able to broadcast one of three statuses: Going Out, Flexible, or Busy.
