In support of one of Apple’s core values and out of their strong belief in the importance of accessibility, Apple Store in Mall of the Emirates and Yas Mall are celebrating Global Accessibility Awareness Day this coming Thursday May 19th by offering a series of educational accessibility workshops. In addition to this, Apple has focused on updating the accessibility apps collection, to create more awareness around accessibility.
Aimed at exploring various available accessibility features that allow customers with special needs to enjoy more of what iPhone, iPad and iPod touch have to offer, Apple Store- Mall of the Emirates will be offering three workshops: “Discover Accessibility: Vision for iPad and iPhone” will introduce the assistive technologies on iPhone and iPad for people who are blind or have low vision; “Discover Accessibility: Hearing for iPad and iPhone” will highlight the iPhone and iPad features that assist people who are deaf or hard of hearing; and “Discover Accessibility: Motor Skills for iPad and iPhone” will showcase how iOS devices makes the multi-touch screen easily accessible to people who find it hard to tap or use gestures.
Moreover, Apple Store in Yas Mall will be focusing on Mac’s main accessibility features by offering “Discover Accessibility: Motor Skills Mac” workshop, which will focus on showing customers how to use gestures to navigate and use their voice to control Mac, and “Discover Accessibility: Vision for Mac” workshop, which will introduce the assistive technologies in OS X that help people who are blind or have low vision use a Mac.
Additionally, Apple is supporting customers with special needs in experiencing apps that help in areas of vision, hearing, speech, learning & literacy, physical motor and accessible home with Siri AppStore.com/Accessibility.
