Two new Apple shops have been launched at the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) in Dubai International Airport. The stores are said to be the largest Apple outlets in the travel retail segment.
The two new stores are located in Terminal 3 next to gate B15 and A12 and spread across more than 80 square metres.
Based on our current sales projections, we expect Apple sales to reach Dh220 million (US$61m) this year, said Colm McLoughlin, executive vice chairman and chief executive of Dubai Duty Free, who launched the opening of the stores with David Chisholm, Apple director of sales for Apple Middle East & Africa.
The statement also said that DDF sold around 50,000 iPhones and iPads in 2015 (38,057 iPhones and 10,657 iPads).

Correction: The story implied that Apple opened two new stores at Dubai international airport, whereas it’s Dubai Duty Free who opened the Apple outlets, part of the Apple shop program.
