Many moons ago, a phone with 16GB capacity may have sufficed, but let’s face it — even with iCloud option turned on and all your photos and videos live and breathe in the cloud, you still need to install apps. And 16GBs won’t cut it, even though the cost saving is tempting.
That might not be the case anymore.
Rumour has it that Apple will ditch the 16GB models entirely in the next iPhone, with the base units having 32GB of storage. It’s also possible that a 256GB model will be introduced — most likely limited for the Plus product line. IHS Technology analyst Kevin Wang has mentioned on Chinese social media that his analysis of Apple’s supply chain indicates this move.
Certainly a welcome move, if true.
