When the iPhone 7 was announced last week, it instantly spurred controversy around its lack of a headphone jack, even though rumours had pointed to that months prior to the reveal. Consumers have already taken to social media to express their disappointment with the company, and Apple’s competitors have taken digs with targeted ads. But the iPhone 7 may not be the last of company’s headphone jack free products as users have reported getting a survey regarding the Apple Macbook Pro and it’s I/O ports.
The survey, which has been corroborated by a number of social media posts, asks users about a number of features regarding the MacBook Pro. However, one of the most telling questions is the following: “Do you ever use the headphone port on your Apple MacBook Pro with Retina display?”
Yikes.
While leaked images of the upcoming chassis show it featuring 4 USB-C ports as well as a headphone jack, this survey could point to a future iteration of the laptop, so you don’t have to worry about the upcoming MacBook Pro being incompatible with your headphones. However, the upcoming version of the MacBook Pro will reportedly not feature an SD card reader, an interesting tidbit considering that the survey also asks users how they transfer images to the Apple MacBook Pro. Other questions consumers were asked related to the Apple MacBook battery.
If you’re interested in getting an iPhone 7, the latest smartphone from Apple goes on sale this Saturday.
