Acer held an event in New York City to show off new upcoming devices.
Smartphones & Wearables
The company unveiled a brand new 5.5-inch Android phablet: the Liquid X2 with a massive 4000Ah battery. The phone is powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor and supports three SIM cards and has a 13-megapixel with an f/1.8 sensor on back and front.
The X2 will have a collection of Quick Flip covers with a strip cut to give users quick status updates and information while the cover is closed.
The Liquid M220 was also revealed at the event. The M220 is a Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone with a 4-inch display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 5-megapixel back camera.
Acer is also releasing 3 fitness trackers, the Liquid Leap fit, Leap Curve and Leap Active.
The Liquid Leap Fit with a 1-inch touchscreen and Leap Curve with a……curved display are both waterproof, sport an optical heart rate sensor, gold-plated sensors that can read galvanic skin response and have a stress sensor, which can tell users when they should take a break from long hours of continuous work. The Liquid Leap Fit will have a changeable band.
The Liquid Leap Active, is a refresh of last year’s hardware. All three wearables are compatible with iOS, Android and Windows.
Gaming
Acer has also jumped into the gaming world with five new products kicking off its new Predator gaming lineup with PC, a tablet, two laptops and a curved monitor.
The 8-inch tablet runs on Android and features front and rear cameras, micro SD slot for storage, four speakers in the front and is housed in a hard rubber and a semi-gloss metal casing.
The Laptops come in a 15- and 17-inch versions with an optical drive located on the side, an SD slot, headphone/microphone jacks, and a speaker in the front. Acer has also added grills at the back of the laptop for better cooling. The laptops have HDMI ports, Display Port, four USB 3.0, one USB Type-C port.
Acer also unveiled a 35-inch curved monitor with G-Sync called the Predator Z35. It has a 21:9 aspect ratio, a refresh rate of 144 Hz and has multiple inputs on the back side including four USB 3.0 ports, an optical digital audio port, one USB 2.0 port, LAN, two HDMI ports (one with MHL), and a DisplayPort In and DisplayPort out.
Tablets & Notebooks
In addition to the above products, Acer also unveiled its new 2-in-1 tablet convertibles running Windows 8.1, Iconia tablets and a range of notebooks and a mini PC.
