Are you ready for the annual CES madness? Here’s a quick look at what to expect from the big boys at this year’s CES in the main categories.

Smartphones:

Sony is rumoured to announce the Sony Xperia Z4 line (although MWC usually makes more sense), while LG is expected to announce the 2nd generation bendable G Flex 2.

Samsung(Galaxy S6 is still unconfirmed) will also be present at the show and HTC is expected to announce new desire series smartphones.

CES15 will also see new companies entering the smartphone market like Kodak and Qualcomm who also teased a smartphone with a Snapdragon 800-series processor inside.

Wearables:

Wearable devices are expected to take a fairly big share of the show this year.

HTC will unveil its first wearable device which is said to be a wrist-worn device “very different” from anything currently on the market, while Lenovo is expected to show its first smartwatch. There are also rumours of a G Watch R 2.

Wearables devices are expected to focus on health.

TVs:

In the TV world, LG, Phillips, Toshiba, Sharp and Panasonic are all expected to launch new models ranging form 4K Ultra HD to Tizen-OS powered smart television by Samsung.

Cars:

CES may be a tech convention, but the number of automakers showing off their latest gadgets has massively increased at this year’s show.

Big announcements are expected about in-car apps and assisted-driving technologies from Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Honda, and others.

The Internet Of Things (IoT):

The Internet of Things (IoT) is taking a lot of attention this year and according to CES, this year’s show will have the largest collection of products under this category with more than 900 exhibitors planning to show off their innovations.

The IoT is also getting a special mention in Samsung keynote at the conference and by companies like Intel as well.

Of course, CES is not only about the big names, other manufacturers will also showcase 100s of products at the event. AbsoluteGeeks will be covering the announcements on daily basis.
