According to Trustwave, more than two million web accounts belonging to users on various social networks like Google, Yahoo, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn have been hacked during November.
As per the report, hackers stole log in usernames and passwords with “Pony” malware. Worldwide users have been targeted with Facebook accounting to the biggest percentage of the hacks at more than 57%.
“Pony” malware collects passwords from the user’s infected computers and also registers them as they are used to log in to social networks and other online services. 10%t of the two million hacked accounts was on Yahoo, 9% Google and 3% Twitter.
The report also said that he majority of hacked accounts used “weak” passwords.
