Yango Group, known for adapting global technologies to local contexts, has launched the Yasmina Midi and Yasmina Mini smart speakers in the UAE. These speakers boast a unique feature: a bilingual, human-like AI assistant named Yasmina, designed specifically for the Middle East. Yasmina is capable of engaging in natural and even humorous conversations in both Khaleeji Arabic and English, offering a truly personalized experience.

More AI Capabilities Unlocked

Yasmina Midi and Yasmina Mini are powered by a proprietary large language model (LLM) that allows them to understand and respond to users in a culturally relevant way. The speakers offer a range of advanced AI features, including:

  • Personalized content: Yasmina can recognize up to four family members by their voices and tailor its responses and recommendations to their individual preferences, including age-appropriate content for children.
  • Multimodal interaction: Yasmina uses its LED screen to display information like the time and weather and expresses emotions. It also employs dynamic lighting to create an immersive experience.
  • Cultural immersion: Yasmina can recite surahs from the Holy Quran, play Adhans, and provide the date according to the Hijri calendar. It also knows prayer times for any city in the world.

Key Features of Yasmina Speakers

  • Superior Audio Quality: Yasmina Midi features three speakers, including a subwoofer, for powerful sound in larger spaces. Yasmina Mini delivers clear and balanced audio, ideal for smaller rooms.
  • Enhanced Privacy: Both speakers are equipped with a mute button that disconnects the microphones, ensuring user privacy.
  • Smart Home Control: Yasmina speakers can serve as smart home hubs, allowing users to control their connected devices using voice commands. Yasmina Midi supports Zigbee and Wi-Fi, while Yasmina Mini integrates with compatible systems via Wi-Fi.

Availability and Pricing

Yasmina Midi and Yasmina Mini are available for purchase across the UAE at various retail and online stores, including Virgin Megastore, Jumbo Electronics, Sharaf DG, and noon.com. Yasmina Midi is priced at AED 449, and Yasmina Mini at AED 279.

Subscription Launch Offer

To access the full range of Yasmina’s features, including music streaming and recommendations, users need to activate a Yango Play subscription. New Yango Play users who purchase a Yasmina speaker will receive a 90-day free trial.

Yango Group’s Yasmina smart speakers mark a significant step in AI assistant technology for the Middle East, offering a culturally relevant and personalized experience that goes beyond basic smart speaker functionality.
