The travel and tourism in 2014 was worth 7.6 trillion U.S. dollars in 2014. That’s 12 zeros. That’s a whole lot of travelling going on.
How many times did you go somewhere based on photos and videos only to find out that the place is nothing like it looks on the website. If you’re in doubt that photos can be better than real life sometimes, ask promoters, models photographer. Hell, Look at your food, now back to you instagram. Now back to your food, Now back to your instagram.. the food your food could look like.
I’m not saying this will replace travel, it’s not ready yet, But the notion of pre-travel via robots is nothing to dismiss. Not with the way mobile broadband speeds are going right now. Not with the advanced in cameras and robots. Make no mistake, someone will want a piece of that 7.6 Trillion dollars.
This may not be the ideal vacation, you can’t propose to somebody like that. You can’t have the experience of smelling, feeling the sand on your feet. You can’t taste the food or get the adrenaline rush of a morning jog.
