The UAE is planning to offer bundles for VoIP services “soon” according to the director general of the UAE’s Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori., and will include services such as WhatsApp and Skype.
The news came during the 15th meeting of the Arab Regulators Network held in Abu Dhabi. Companies looking to provide these services should coordinate with the UAE’s two telecom operators, Etisalat and du, he added.
It’s still unclear whether operators will be charging additional fees for subscribers to use these services.
Tis story is developing; we’ll update this post as more information comes in.
