UGREEN launches first Qi2.2 wireless power bank with 25W magnetic charging

UGREEN has unveiled what it claims to be the first wireless power bank certified for Qi2.2, a next-generation standard that aims to significantly improve magnetic wireless charging. As most smartphones continue pushing the boundaries of charging performance—particularly flagship models like the iPhone 16 and Galaxy S25—Qi2.2 arrives with the promise of faster, more efficient wireless charging up to 50W. But despite this potential, adoption of the Qi2 ecosystem has remained relatively modest. UGREEN’s new release could be the first meaningful step toward mainstream momentum.

Dubbed the MagFlow Magnetic Power Bank, UGREEN’s device features a 10,000mAh battery capacity and delivers up to 25W of magnetic wireless charging power. That’s a notable jump from the 15W ceiling that’s held back current Qi2-certified products. It includes a built-in USB-C cable for those who still prefer or require wired charging, as well as an additional USB-C port for powering multiple devices at once. A side-facing display offers real-time battery status, rounding out a package designed with flexibility and mobility in mind.

Although the MagFlow is engineered to be future-ready with Qi2.2 support, it retains compatibility with current Qi2 and even earlier Qi devices, making it a useful accessory even for users who haven’t yet upgraded to hardware that fully supports the newest protocol. Stronger magnets and internal efficiency improvements aim to provide a better overall experience—not just faster charging, but more consistent alignment and reduced heat.

Shipping is expected sometime between now and October, likely aligning with the rollout of new smartphones such as the rumored iPhone 17, which may offer improved wireless charging capabilities. UGREEN’s early entry into the Qi2.2 space will likely be followed by competitors like Satechi, while Samsung appears to be testing the waters by adding full Qi2 magnet support to its Galaxy accessory line. That move may enable Qi2.2 functionality through add-ons rather than requiring changes to the phone hardware itself.

Qi2, first introduced at CES 2023, was meant to bring MagSafe-like magnetic alignment to Android users, but widespread support has been slow. The HMD Skyline remains one of the few Android devices with full Qi2 magnet integration, while brands like Google and Samsung have yet to fully embrace the standard on the device level. As Qi2.2 slowly rolls out, upcoming models such as the Pixel 10 and OnePlus 13 may offer native support, but until then, third-party accessories like the MagFlow represent the clearest path to faster, more convenient wireless charging.

Pricing for the MagFlow has not yet been confirmed, but its feature set positions it as a premium option within the growing landscape of wireless power accessories. For users tired of slow, finicky wireless charging, it could offer a meaningful step forward—provided their devices are ready to take advantage of it.
