The UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has launched a new national initiative, “AI for All,” in collaboration with Google. Announced during the UAE Coding Day event, “UAE Codes 2025,” the program seeks to expand digital literacy and artificial intelligence education across the country, with a rollout planned throughout 2026.

The initiative is designed to make AI skills accessible to people of all ages and professions through structured training programs. Its goal is to help residents develop a practical understanding of AI fundamentals, generative tools, and responsible use, ultimately supporting the UAE’s transition toward a more digitally capable society.

According to data from Public First, generative AI could add an estimated AED 298 billion to the UAE’s economy, highlighting the economic importance of AI literacy. The “AI for All” initiative responds directly to that potential by addressing the growing demand for a workforce equipped with relevant technological skills.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, described the partnership with Google as part of a broader national effort to prepare the UAE for a future shaped by digital transformation. He emphasized that empowering citizens with AI knowledge will play a key role in strengthening the digital economy and ensuring that innovation benefits all segments of society.

Google’s Managing Director for MENA, Anthony Nakache, said the program reflects a shared commitment to making AI accessible and beneficial to everyone. The company plans to contribute through its AI tools, training content, and platforms such as Gemini. Nakache noted that students, teachers, small businesses, and journalists will have opportunities to learn how to use AI effectively, with a focus on safety, productivity, and creative applications.

As part of the rollout, Google has provided UAE university students with free 12-month access to its Gemini 2.5 model and will continue to develop educational programs in partnership with the UAE AI Office. These sessions will cover topics such as writing effective prompts for generative AI, improving digital creativity, and integrating AI into small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) operations to boost efficiency and growth.

The initiative will also feature a nationwide awareness campaign in 2026 to encourage participation in AI literacy modules. These sessions will emphasize data privacy, productivity, and responsible usage. The campaign supports the UAE’s Vision 2031, which aims to position the country as a global destination for AI development and innovation.

The collaboration is part of Google’s wider “MENA AI Opportunity Initiative,” which seeks to promote AI education, research, and access across the Middle East and North Africa by 2027. Since 2018, Google’s Arabic-language learning platform, Maharat min Google, has trained more than 430,000 people in digital skills within the UAE. The addition of AI-focused courses marks a continued effort to prepare the region’s workforce for a technology-driven future.
