As we get closer to end the year, software company SplashDATA has put together a list of the “worst password” used throughout this year.
SplashData said it came up with these hits by analyzing over 5 million leaked passwords, from North American and Western European users. The company claims that around 10% of people have used at least one of these passwords, and 3% used the almighty “123456” combination 😂.
“Hackers have great success using celebrity names, terms from pop culture and sports, and simple keyboard patterns to break into accounts online, because they know so many people are using those easy-to-remember combinations”
SplashData CEO Morgan Slain
