Enter the REON POCKET PRO, a high-end wearable cooling and warming device that sits at the back of your neck and helps you chill — literally — on command.
Designed for people who live where the sun is more foe than friend (hello, UAE), the REON POCKET PRO packs some serious cooling tech into a sleek, barely noticeable package. It’s the newest and most powerful version of Sony’s personal climate control series and includes dual thermo modules—a fancy way of saying it cools twice as much, for twice as long, compared to earlier models. It’s like having your own pocket-sized air conditioner that doesn’t mess up your look or weigh you down.
Sony has redesigned the internal fan system too, doubling airflow for faster heat dissipation and extended runtime. According to the brand, you can get up to 34 hours of cooling at Level 1, and a solid 15 hours in SMART mode, which adjusts based on your movement, temperature, and humidity. Translation: you can walk the Marina, hit the metro, and survive a mid-day coffee run without breaking a sweat — or at least without melting into your chair.
The device is discreet enough to blend into business wear (think neutral gray and whisper-quiet operation) but rugged enough for outdoor activities. It also includes onboard buttons for switching between cooling and warming modes without needing your phone — perfect if your hands are full, or your phone is too hot to hold.
Fit-wise, Sony has upgraded the neckband with a more flexible build and better grip. Whether you’re navigating Sheikh Zayed Road traffic or rushing through Dubai Mall, it stays in place and stays cool.
And yes, while the REON POCKET PRO does technically also warm you up (for the two weeks Dubai gets “winter”), it’s the cooling feature that steals the show here. If you’ve ever wished your AC could follow you out the door, this is pretty close.
Available now across the UAE and other Middle East markets, the REON POCKET PRO retails for AED 799. Not cheap — but then again, neither is a heatstroke.
