Time to put a ring on it: Apple is reportedly accelerating its ‘Apple Ring’ development

Apple is reportedly accelerating its development of a smart ring health wearable, following Samsung’s teasing the launch of their Galaxy Ring this year. A new Korean report suggests Apple is carefully studying the market for ring-based devices.

Apple has explored ring wearable patents for years, but Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Ring launch might propel them to market.

According to the Electronic Times, Apple sees serious potential in this sector. Patents point to an NFC-enabled finger device, hinting at seamless interaction within Apple’s ecosystem. “Commercialization is imminent,” claims an industry insider.

However, we have to point out that Electronic Times doesn’t really have a reliable track record in accurate leaks, nor predictions.

For now, Samsung is preparing to debut the Galaxy Ring at its second Unpacked event, likely in late July with features like blood flow monitoring, ECG capabilities, sleep tracking, and even remote device control.
