Acer has announced the availability of its new Swift 5 notebook in the region for the first time. With a 15-inch display, the elegant chassis weighs less than 1 kg (2.2 lbs), the world’s lightest notebook, making it ideal for people always on the go. The Swift 5 is powered by Windows 10, the latest Intel® Core™ processors and features exceptional performance and battery life that lasts through the workday.

Designed for customers who want an envy-inducing PC, the Swift 5 (SF515-51T) delivers exceptional performance in a compact body. The Swift 5 features a full HD 1920×1080 IPS 15.6” IPS touchscreen with ultra-narrow bezels, giving it an incredible 87.6% screen-to-body ratio to create an immersive viewing experience.

By launching the world’s lightest 15-inch notebook in the UAE, Acer has once again listened to its customers to provide stellar features and unrivaled technology. The industry leadingsub-1 kg weight on the new Swift 5 delivers all that’s best in an ultra-portable notebook: a sleek chassis, stylish design and slim bezels with superb performance and battery life, said Paul Collins, Acer MEA General Manager.

The Swift 5 is constructed with advanced materials including ultra-light magnesium-lithium alloys for the top and bottom cover, and magnesium-aluminum alloys for extra sturdiness on the palm rest area. Thanks to the LED backlit keyboard, users can work effectively on the go all day and even at night.

Powered by the latest Intel® processors, the Acer Swift 5 offers an exceptionally fast and responsive experience with battery life that lasts through the workday. The Swift 5 features Intel® Wireless-AC 9560 which offers 2×2 802.11ac wireless Gigabit performance that enhances streaming, sharing, conferencing, and gaming experiences.

A unique feature that can be found in the Swift 5 is the Acer Fingerprint Reader, a biometric authentication system that offers a quick and secure way for Windows 10 to verification of a users’ identity, all without the need for passwords. The small fingerprint scanner is located at the upper-right-hand corner of the palm rest and works in conjunction with Windows Hello. After scanning and verifying a users’ fingerprint, it will auto login them onto their Windows account.

Pricing and Availability

The Swift 5 notebook is available for pre-order with Sharaf DG and at a starting price of AED 5,899.
