TECNO has officially introduced the POVA 7 5G in Saudi Arabia, marking the next step in its efforts to reach gamers in the Kingdom’s fast-growing mobile esports market. As part of the launch, the company is renewing its partnership with popular local content creator Bander Madkhali—better known as “Bandrita”—who played a major role in promoting the previous POVA 6 Pro 5G model.
The timing of the POVA 7 debut coincides with the ongoing Esports World Cup in Riyadh, where mobile gaming hardware has drawn considerable attention. TECNO appears to be positioning the POVA 7 5G as a mid-range gaming device designed for performance on a budget.
The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7300 chipset, which supports gameplay up to 90fps and works with a 144Hz high refresh rate display. Storage comes in at 256GB with 8GB of RAM, expandable virtually to 16GB via memory fusion. An 11-layer cooling system is integrated to help maintain performance under sustained gaming loads.
For mobile gamers relying on strong connectivity, the POVA 7 supports dual SIM 5.5G networks and features a proprietary Wireless Travail Mode 1.0—TECNO’s short-range communication system that reportedly enables connectivity over distances up to 800 meters, useful in environments without strong coverage or when direct app-to-app communication is needed.
A standout hardware feature is its large 6000mAh battery, paired with 45W wired and 30W wireless fast charging. TECNO is also bundling a 5000mAh external power bank in select launch packages, further appealing to gamers on the move. The device also supports reverse wireless charging for other devices.
The POVA 7 will be available across Saudi Arabia starting July 28 at a retail price of SAR 799. It will be sold through major outlets including Jarir Bookstore, Extra, Noon, Lulu Hypermarket, Nesto, Najd Telecom, and Mashael Al Asimah Telecom.
As part of its marketing campaign, TECNO is releasing a limited number of Bandrita-themed gifts for early buyers. The brand has previously found success with localized campaigns in the Kingdom, and its continued investment suggests a long-term play in the region’s mobile gaming and youth tech market.
While TECNO continues to grow in emerging markets, the POVA 7 5G underscores its strategy of balancing affordable price points with gaming-centric hardware, appealing to younger consumers who want solid performance without premium pricing.
