8849 has launched the TANK 4 PRO, a rugged smartphone that combines high-end performance with durability and a unique feature: a built-in 720P projector. Marketed as the world’s first rugged phone to include this capability, the TANK 4 PRO positions itself as a tool for both professionals in the field and users seeking off-grid functionality without sacrificing entertainment or productivity.

The TANK 4 PRO features a 6.73-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 × 1440 and a 120Hz refresh rate. Powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8300-Ultra chipset, it pairs 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. A triple-slot design supports dual SIM use alongside memory expansion via TF card, enhancing flexibility for users who rely on one device for both personal and professional use.

Its standout addition is a 720P DLP projector integrated directly into the phone. With 100 lumens of brightness and laser-assisted autofocus, the projector is designed for use in low-light environments like tents or remote campsites. The focus range spans 0.5 to 3 meters, enabling flexible projection setups. Complementing this are RGB camping and emergency lights, reinforcing the phone’s appeal to outdoor users.

The camera setup includes a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL primary sensor, a 64MP OmniVision night vision camera supported by four infrared LEDs, and a 50MP Samsung telephoto sensor with autofocus. A 32MP OmniVision front camera rounds out the imaging system. These specs cater to users who need reliable photography tools in varied lighting conditions.

An 11,600mAh battery supports 120W wired charging and 25W reverse charging, offering extended use and the ability to power other devices. The phone also includes NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6E, USB 3.0 Type-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Two dedicated Push-To-Talk buttons and IP68 certification reinforce the device’s field-readiness.

Running Android 14, the TANK 4 PRO weighs in at approximately 538g and is now available for $649/\u00a3589 through 8849’s website and Aliexpress, with a U.S. Amazon release expected in July.
