Spotify unveils custom typeface, Spotify Mix, to amplify brand identity

Spotify is taking its brand to the next level with the introduction of Spotify Mix, a new custom typeface designed to reflect the platform’s vibrant and creative community. The font, a collaboration with Berlin-based foundry Dinamo Typefaces, is a unique blend of classic and contemporary styles, incorporating elements inspired by sound waves.

Rasmus Wängelin, Spotify’s Global Head of Brand Design, described the font as a “remix” that mirrors the dynamic nature of audio culture. The typeface will be used across Spotify’s in-app and desktop experiences, as well as in marketing campaigns and events.

The rollout of Spotify Mix will initially focus on languages with Latin-based scripts and Vietnamese, with further expansion planned in the coming weeks. By developing this bespoke typeface, Spotify aims to create a more distinctive and memorable brand identity that resonates with its users and creators alike.
