Space42 (ADX: SPACE42), the UAE-based AI-powered SpaceTech company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with e& UAE, the flagship telecom arm of global technology group e&, to co-develop and deploy Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) technologies aimed at powering the next generation of autonomous mobility and smart city infrastructure across the UAE.

This landmark collaboration merges Space42’s Sovereign Mobility Cloud and autonomous vehicle (AV) expertise with e& UAE’s advanced 5.5G connectivity, edge computing, and secure communications frameworks, setting the stage for safe, scalable, and sustainable autonomous transportation. The initiative aligns with the UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031, reinforcing the country’s position as a global hub for smart mobility innovation.

Accelerating the UAE’s Smart Mobility Ecosystem

V2X technology allows vehicles to communicate with other vehicles, infrastructure, pedestrians, and networks—in real time—to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental sustainability. By combining terrestrial and satellite connectivity, edge computing nodes, and real-time analytics, the system supports over-the-air updates (OTA), high-definition mapping, and predictive traffic intelligence.

Hasan Al Hosani, CEO of Smart Solutions at Space42, said:

“This partnership brings together innovation on the ground and in the cloud. By combining Space42’s autonomous systems with e& UAE’s advanced networks, we can turn vehicles into more intelligent, connected, and embodied agents that move safely through our cities. It also builds on our mission to integrate space, AI, and mobility technologies into daily life, advancing the UAE’s vision for sustainable, autonomous transportation.”

Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of e& UAE, added:

“Together with Space42, we’re combining UAE-wide 5.5G, edge compute, and secure communications with the Sovereign Mobility Cloud to let vehicles ‘see’ more, react faster, and share trusted data with roads, signals, and pedestrians. Our goal is to help regulators and city operators launch certifiable pilots that improve road safety and traffic flow, while laying the foundation for the 6G era.”

Three Pillars of Collaboration

Under the agreement, Space42 and e& UAE will collaborate across three key domains:

  1. Connected Infrastructure & Networks:
Integrating terrestrial, satellite, and edge-compute networks with Space42’s Sovereign Mobility Cloud to enable seamless, low-latency V2X communication at scale.
  2. Autonomous & Connected Mobility Pilots:
Deploying autonomous shuttles, robotaxis, and logistics fleets across Abu Dhabi and other smart mobility zones in the UAE, enabling safer and more efficient multimodal transport systems.
  3. Ecosystem & Commercial Frameworks:
Partnering with Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Abu Dhabi Police, and national regulators to establish UAE-wide V2X standards, safety certifications, and commercial deployment models.

Building the Infrastructure for Autonomy

This partnership directly supports the Smart Autonomous Systems Council mission, driving collaboration between government, industry, and academia to shape the UAE’s autonomous future.

Since 2021, Space42 has logged over 600,000 kilometers of autonomous driving and completed 20,000 passenger trips through TXAI, its flagship robotaxi service — the first of its kind in the region. These milestones highlight how digital infrastructure and AI integration can safely transition autonomy from pilot testing to public operation.

At the core of this ecosystem lies Space42’s Sovereign Mobility Cloud and the Digital Twin of Abu Dhabi — a real-time simulation platform that connects satellite, sensor, and city network data to create a unified mobility intelligence layer. This enables vehicles, roads, and urban systems to interact seamlessly, transforming every trip into actionable insight that strengthens the UAE’s connected mobility framework
