Samsung is expanding the availability of its Good Lock customization tool, making it accessible to users in all countries through the Google Play Store with the upcoming release of One UI 7. This move brings enhanced customization options to a wider audience of Galaxy smartphone users.
Good Lock is a framework that allows for deeper customization of Samsung’s One UI Android skin without requiring complex modding or rooting the device. It offers modules that can modify various aspects of the user interface, from the lock screen and notification panel to the app launcher and system settings.
Previously, Good Lock was only available in select regions and could only be accessed through the Galaxy Store. With One UI 7, Samsung is making Good Lock accessible to all users via the Play Store, increasing its convenience and reach.
In addition to expanding its availability, Samsung is also redesigning the Good Lock app with a focus on improving user experience. The update will include a filter for specific Good Lock modules, a new “My Page” tab for better app management, and updates to existing modules.
One UI 7 is currently in beta testing for Galaxy S24 devices and is expected to officially launch with the Galaxy S25 series later this month. The wider availability of Good Lock with One UI 7 underscores Samsung’s commitment to providing users with greater control over their smartphone experience. This move could give Samsung an edge in customization capabilities compared to other smartphone manufacturers, offering users more freedom to personalize their devices.
