Samsung has announced a new wave of Odyssey gaming monitors ahead of CES 2026, expanding its high-end display lineup with five new models that emphasize refresh rate flexibility, higher resolutions, and alternative viewing technologies. The announcement positions the company as continuing to experiment at the upper limits of monitor specifications, particularly in areas that appeal to competitive gaming and early adopters of new display formats.
The most attention-grabbing model in the lineup is the Odyssey G6 (G60H), a 27-inch gaming monitor that Samsung describes as capable of reaching a 1,040Hz refresh rate. Under standard operation, the monitor runs a 2,560 x 1,440 QHD IPS panel at up to 600Hz. The headline 1,040Hz figure is achieved through a Dual Mode feature that lowers the resolution to HD, allowing users to prioritize frame rate over image detail. The G60H supports HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, HDR10+, AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and NVIDIA G-Sync, placing it firmly in the competitive esports segment rather than general-purpose gaming.
Another notable addition is the 32-inch Odyssey 3D (G90XH), which combines a 6K resolution panel with glasses-free 3D functionality. While both 6K and 3D monitors have existed separately, Samsung is positioning this model as the first to integrate both in a consumer gaming product. The display operates at 165Hz in full 6K mode and can reach 330Hz when switched to a lower 3K resolution via Dual Mode. The 3D effect relies on real-time eye tracking to adjust depth and perspective dynamically, eliminating the need for headsets or glasses. Samsung says select games, including The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: Overture, and Stellar Blade, will support enhanced depth rendering designed specifically for this display.
The company is also expanding the Odyssey G8 range with three new variants. The Odyssey G8 G80HS features a 32-inch 6K (6,144 x 3,456) IPS panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, scaling to 330Hz in Dual Mode at 3K. The Odyssey G8 G80HF targets a slightly smaller footprint with a 27-inch 5K (5,120 x 2,880) IPS display capable of 180Hz, or 380Hz when switched to QHD resolution. These models appear aimed at users who want higher pixel density without fully sacrificing refresh rate.
Rounding out the lineup is the Odyssey G8 OLED (G80SH), which uses a 4K QD-OLED panel with a 240Hz refresh rate. It carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and supports DisplayPort 2.1 with UHBR20 bandwidth, allowing up to 80Gbps throughput. This model is positioned more toward image quality and contrast performance than extreme refresh rates.
Samsung has not yet shared pricing or release timelines. The full Odyssey 2026 lineup will be displayed publicly at CES 2026 in Las Vegas starting January 6, where hands-on demonstrations are expected to provide more clarity on how these specifications translate into real-world use.
