RØDE has introduced the Wireless Micro Camera Kit, the newest addition to its popular wireless microphone range. Expanding on the success of the original Wireless Micro — a model widely used by smartphone creators — the new kit extends its use to cameras, offering enhanced connectivity and more versatile audio capture options.
The Wireless Micro Camera Kit includes two compact transmitters with built-in microphones, a smartphone receiver, and a dedicated on-camera receiver featuring a 1.1-inch AMOLED display. Designed to accommodate DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, and mobile devices, the kit aims to simplify the process of recording professional-grade audio across different production setups.
The system maintains the same lightweight, portable approach as its predecessor while introducing universal camera connectivity through both USB-C and 3.5mm TRS outputs. It also comes with a charging case that offers up to 21 hours of use through two full recharges. A plug-in power detection feature automatically switches the receiver on or off when connected or disconnected from a camera, streamlining power management for creators on the go.
Among its key updates is RØDE’s second-generation camera receiver, now featuring an AMOLED interface for faster setup and clearer control visibility. The device’s Intelligent GainAssist technology automatically adjusts audio levels to maintain clarity in various environments, reducing the need for manual fine-tuning. The transmitters also use omnidirectional microphones to capture sound from all directions, complemented by internal and furry windshields to minimize wind noise during outdoor use.
Connectivity flexibility is a core focus. Alongside the camera receiver, the kit includes a USB-C smartphone receiver for mobile recording and Bluetooth support for iOS users through the RØDE Capture app. The modular setup allows users to shift seamlessly between camera and phone, catering to filmmakers, vloggers, and podcasters who work across multiple formats.
RØDE CEO Damien Wilson described the kit as part of the company’s ongoing goal to make professional audio more accessible to a wider creative community. The design reflects the growing demand for compact, high-performance tools that fit modern hybrid production workflows.
The Wireless Micro Camera Kit is priced at US$149 and is now available globally through RØDE’s official retail partners.
