racto, a long-established digital healthcare platform, has officially launched its services for consumers in the UAE, bringing instant access to a verified network of over 31,000 doctors and 3,000 clinics across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. This marks a significant shift in how patients in the region can navigate the healthcare system—by enabling appointment bookings, provider discovery, and access to patient reviews all in one digital interface.
The UAE’s healthcare market, known for its insurance-led infrastructure and rapidly evolving digital health landscape, presents a natural expansion for Practo. The company has had a presence in the region for over a decade via its hospital operations platform, Insta by Practo, which supports backend systems for healthcare providers like Emirates Hospital and Life Medical Center. With the launch of its consumer-facing platform, Practo is now targeting wider adoption, aiming to serve 10% of Dubai’s population annually through its services.
Unlike many digital health tools tied to specific hospital groups, Practo positions itself as a brand-neutral search engine for medical care. Users can search for doctors and clinics by specialty, proximity, symptoms, or treatment needs, and view verified patient feedback before making an appointment. Specialties currently emphasized include dermatology, dentistry, gynecology, psychiatry, ENT, and general practice.

One feature aimed at improving decision-making is the rollout of insurance compatibility data, which is already available at the clinic level and expected to be searchable by doctor profiles before the end of the month. This aims to align with how patients in Dubai often select providers—based not only on location and expertise, but also on insurance acceptance.
Several prominent local institutions, including Sulaiman Habib Hospital and Micris Dental Clinic, are already participating in the platform. Mohammad Ahmed, Head of Marketing at Sulaiman Habib Hospital, said the partnership reflects a broader shift toward transparency and accessibility in the region’s healthcare services.
Since going live in the UAE, the platform reports over 50,000 monthly users. Practo’s leadership says the launch reflects rising cross-border demand for continuity in care, especially among users who travel frequently between India and the Gulf region. Patients can use the platform to locate providers in either country, extending its value beyond local boundaries.
Now profitable in its core market of India, Practo’s UAE expansion suggests a renewed focus on consumer-facing healthcare tools at a global scale. Whether that translates into sustained regional adoption remains to be seen, but the infrastructure is in place for a more connected, searchable, and patient-centric approach to care in the Middle East.
