Oppo unveils Reno 14F Dark Side Edition with Darth Vader styling and themed accessories

Oppo has introduced the Reno 14F Dark Side Limited Edition in Mexico, a Star Wars–themed variant aimed at collectors and longtime fans of the franchise. While limited-edition smartphones tied to major entertainment brands are not new, this release leans heavily on visual styling and accessories rather than hardware changes, keeping the internal specifications identical to the standard Reno 14F.

The design centers on Darth Vader, one of the franchise’s most recognizable characters. The rear panel features an iridescent stereoscopic relief of Vader’s helmet, accented with a red glow designed to give the surface more visual depth. Oppo and Star Wars engravings appear with contrasting finishes, presenting the device as a commemorative piece rather than a typical color variant. The packaging follows the same theme: the box is modeled after the Death Star II, and it includes unique numbering and gold detailing referencing scenes from the original trilogy.

The accessory set expands the themed experience. Buyers receive a Darth Vader–styled charger, a pendant-style SIM ejector tool, and a Death Star II phone stand. Exclusive wallpapers and animations are also preloaded, drawing on notable moments from across the Star Wars timeline. These additions are meant to create a cohesive aesthetic, though they do not affect the phone’s functionality.

Beyond the exterior, the Reno 14F Dark Side Limited Edition maintains the same specifications as the base model. It comes with a 6.57-inch AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate, a 240Hz touch sampling rate, and peak brightness up to 1400 nits. The device runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The camera system includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro camera, with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

A 6000mAh battery powers the phone, supported by 45W fast charging. Other features such as an in-display fingerprint scanner and an IP68/69 rating for dust and water resistance remain unchanged. Oppo has not yet shared pricing or availability details beyond Mexico, leaving open the possibility of a broader release depending on demand for branded collaborations of this type.
