OPPO has announced an expanded collaboration with Google to enhance personalized and privacy-focused mobile AI experiences across its upcoming devices. The partnership aims to integrate Google’s Gemini models more deeply into OPPO’s ecosystem, combining local device intelligence with cloud-based AI to deliver features that are both context-aware and user-controlled.
Kai Tang, President of Software Engineering at OPPO, described the initiative as part of the company’s effort to make AI more meaningful and secure in daily use. “Working closely with partners like Google allows us to integrate next-generation AI experiences that are not only powerful but also highly personalized and secure,” he said. “Our goal is to provide users with an AI assistant that truly understands their needs while respecting their privacy.”
At the center of this new collaboration is Mind Space, a productivity tool debuting with the upcoming Find X9 Series. The feature enables users to capture on-screen content—such as text, images, or web pages—with a simple three-finger swipe and store it in a unified hub. Gemini can then draw from this curated content, with explicit user permission, to perform tasks such as drafting itineraries or summarizing saved information. The integration reflects OPPO’s focus on creating an AI experience that combines memory, context, and user intent in a controlled environment.
Beyond Mind Space, Gemini will be integrated into several OPPO apps and services, including photo editing and live assistance. With Gemini Live, users can ask questions or seek guidance by sharing what’s on their camera or screen, receiving visual cues and step-by-step help in real time. Meanwhile, Nano Banana, Gemini’s new image editing model, allows users to enhance or creatively modify photos using natural-language prompts—further blending AI creativity with OPPO’s imaging expertise.
Privacy remains a central focus of the partnership. OPPO’s AI Private Computing Cloud (PCC) uses Google Cloud’s confidential computing framework to ensure that sensitive data processed by AI remains encrypted and inaccessible to third parties, including OPPO itself. This security model underpins AI-driven tools such as AI Mind Space, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, and AI Writer, allowing users to benefit from contextual intelligence without compromising control over personal data.
All of these capabilities will debut on the OPPO Find X9 Series and ColorOS 16, launching later this year. Buyers of the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro will receive a complimentary three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which includes access to premium Gemini features and 2TB of cloud storage.
The OPPO–Google partnership represents a continuation of both companies’ efforts to merge on-device performance with cloud-based intelligence. As AI becomes more personalized and integrated into daily workflows, this collaboration positions OPPO’s upcoming flagships as key players in the next wave of secure, human-centered mobile AI innovation.
