e& United Arab Emirates has been named the recipient of multiple Speedtest Awards™ for the second half of 2025, according to results published by Ookla. Based on data collected through the Speedtest platform during Q3 and Q4 2025, the operator was recognized as the World’s Fastest Mobile Network, marking the fifth time it has received this particular distinction.
For the award period, e& UAE recorded a Speed Score™ of 89.11 for mobile performance. Average download speeds reached 830.05 Mbps, with uploads averaging 48.18 Mbps. According to Ookla’s methodology, only operators previously ranked as the fastest within their respective countries are eligible for consideration in the global mobile category, narrowing the competitive field to top-performing national providers.
In addition to the overall mobile network recognition, e& UAE was also awarded the title of World’s Fastest 5G Network for Q3–Q4 2025. This marks the fourth consecutive time the operator has received this 5G-specific award. During the same testing period, the company achieved a 5G Speed Score™ of 83.68, with reported average download speeds of 993.96 Mbps and upload speeds of 58.21 Mbps. As 5G deployment continues to mature across global markets, sub-1 Gbps average download speeds at scale remain relatively uncommon, placing the UAE operator among the higher-performing networks measured in this cycle.

Regionally, e& UAE was also recognized for operating the Fastest Fixed Network in the Middle East during Q3–Q4 2025. In this category, the company posted a Speed Score™ of 76.56, with top download speeds of 890.56 Mbps and top upload speeds of 322.65 Mbps. Fixed broadband performance in the Gulf region has been closely tied to aggressive fiber-to-the-home expansion, and the UAE has consistently ranked near the top of international broadband speed indices in recent years.
Ookla’s awards are based on consumer-initiated tests conducted through its Speedtest platform, which aggregates millions of real-world measurements. The company applies a standardized scoring model to evaluate download and upload speeds, latency, and consistency metrics across participating networks. While the results reflect strong performance in the UAE during the measured quarters, Ookla notes that high-performing networks exist across multiple global markets, and eligibility for the “World’s Fastest” designation depends on prior national-level recognition.
Beyond the awards themselves, the results highlight the broader infrastructure investment taking place in the UAE’s telecom sector. Mobile and fixed network performance have become central to national digital transformation strategies, particularly as demand increases for high-bandwidth applications such as cloud computing, streaming, gaming, and enterprise connectivity.
Ookla, known for its Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, and RootMetrics platforms, positions its analysis as a benchmark for network performance and reliability worldwide. Its reports are widely referenced by operators and regulators when assessing connectivity trends, although performance outcomes can vary based on geography, device capability, and network load.
