OnePlus has begun formally teasing the OnePlus 15T in China, positioning the device as a compact flagship with meaningful hardware revisions. Early confirmation from company leadership points to a larger battery, a redesigned periscope camera system, and broader internal refinements, suggesting that the OnePlus 15T will focus on endurance and imaging rather than incremental cosmetic changes.
According to statements shared on Weibo by a senior OnePlus executive, the OnePlus 15T will introduce a new LUMO periscope telephoto system. The company says the updated hardware and image processing pipeline are designed to improve long-distance clarity while also refining portrait depth and tonal balance. While official technical details remain limited, reports indicate the device may include a 50-megapixel periscope camera with an 85mm equivalent focal length, roughly 3.5x optical zoom, an f/2.8 aperture, and optical image stabilization.
Beyond imaging, battery capacity appears to be a central part of the OnePlus 15T upgrade cycle. Leaks suggest the handset could house a 7,000mAh to 7,500mAh battery, a significant figure for a phone expected to measure around 8.5mm thick and weigh approximately 194 grams. If accurate, this would place the OnePlus 15T among the highest-capacity batteries in the compact flagship segment. Charging support is rumored to include 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, aligning with OnePlus’ existing fast-charging strategy.
On the display side, the OnePlus 15T is expected to feature a 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Reports also mention a dedicated P3 display chip and an enhanced gaming engine aimed at maintaining performance stability during sustained workloads.
Internally, the phone is rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. These specifications place the OnePlus 15T firmly in the upper tier of Android hardware for 2026, assuming final configurations match current expectations.
Camera hardware remains subject to some uncertainty. In addition to the 50MP periscope telephoto lens, the primary sensor may be either a 50-megapixel Sony IMX906 or a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5. Notably, some reports suggest the absence of an ultra-wide sensor, which would mark a shift in camera priorities toward telephoto performance rather than focal length diversity. A 32-megapixel front-facing camera is also expected.
The OnePlus 15T is said to ship with Android 16 layered with ColorOS 16 in China, alongside features such as a customizable Plus Key and an IP68/IP69 rating for dust and water resistance. Color options are expected to include Relaxing Matcha, Healing White Chocolate, and Pure Cocoa.
As the compact flagship category becomes more competitive, the OnePlus 15T appears to be targeting users who want top-tier performance and extended battery life without moving to a larger device. Final pricing and availability details have yet to be confirmed.
