We have often heard the term “Planned Obsolescence” in which a product is designed to become, no longer useful after a specified period.
Software can be a reason for unreliability over time, and the new features that are brought on with new versions. This may be the reason for device upgrades, as was the case put forward by Nokia.
Nokia has promised software support for two years. The support means that the devices launching in the year 2019 would get the Android Q update. Apart from the Android Q we can also expect Google’s next Android version to come as an update.

The security updates promised by Nokia are up to three years. This is quite impressive when you see that most Android device manufacturers do not support their devices after the first year.
Another life-extending feature is the use of Android One. It’s what the Android community would call “a vanilla android experience” . This is a welcomed feature when we take into thought the performance loss that comes with most skins.
A sub-feature of android one is the adaptive battery. The feature uses AI to learn how you use your phone. It then uses that information to improve battery life.

We have seen Nokia make a come back under the parent company HMD and we at Absolute Geeks look forward to seeing what happens next.
