While Nintendo itself was absent from CES 2025, the rumored Switch 2 made a notable appearance thanks to accessory maker Genki. The company showcased a 3D-printed mockup of the upcoming console, claiming it’s based on the final design.
According to reports from various publications that went hands-on with the mockup, the Switch 2 appears wider than its predecessor, with larger Joy-Con controllers and a bigger screen. The Joy-Cons reportedly attach magnetically to the console and feature a new button for easier detachment.
Genki’s CEO also revealed that the Joy-Cons will include an optical sensor, corroborating recent leaks about the console’s features.

IGN took precise measurements of the Switch 2 mockup, revealing that it’s 10.5 inches wide, 4.5 inches tall, and 0.5 inches thick, with an 8-inch screen. This compares to the Switch OLED model’s 9.5-inch width, 4-inch height, 0.5-inch thickness, and 7-inch screen.
Genki has even created a webpage for Nintendo Switch 2 accessories, featuring a video that provides a closer look at the console’s design.
With Nintendo promising an official reveal of the Switch 2 before the end of March 2025, these leaks and mockups have fueled anticipation for the next-generation console. Given the amount of information already circulating, a formal announcement could be imminent.
