MSI launches MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24: 2K 240Hz monitor with 0.03ms response

MSI has unveiled its latest high-refresh gaming display in China, the MAG 272QP QD-OLED X24, priced at 2,999 yuan (about $420) on JD.com. With a 26.5-inch QD-OLED panel supplied by Samsung Display, the monitor combines OLED’s self-emissive pixels with quantum dot enhancements to push both speed and color fidelity for competitive gaming.

The display runs at 2560 × 1440 (2K) with a 240Hz refresh rate and an ultra-fast 0.03ms GtG response time. Motion clarity is backed by VESA ClearMR 13000 certification and Adaptive Sync to minimize tearing and stutter. For HDR, the monitor peaks at 400 nits, while SDR brightness hits 200 nits, paired with a 1,500,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for deep blacks and vivid highlights.

Color performance is another highlight. MSI claims 99% DCI-P3, 98% Adobe RGB, and 138% sRGB coverage, with factory calibration targeting ΔE ≤ 2. The panel supports 10-bit color depth, offering up to 1.07 billion colors.

For gaming utility, MSI has built in tools like an adaptive crosshair that shifts based on background tone and a shadow boost mode to reveal details in darker scenes. To combat OLED burn-in, the monitor incorporates OLED Care 2.0 with pixel shifting, refresh cycles, brightness limiting, and comes with a three-year burn-in warranty.

Design-wise, it uses a fanless graphene heatsink for cooling and includes ergonomic adjustments: tilt (-5° to 20°), swivel (±30°), pivot rotation, and 110mm of height adjustment. The stand features MSI’s Flowing Light accents and a joystick for quick OSD control, while a magnetic hood helps block ambient light.

Connectivity options cover two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4a, USB-C with DP Alt Mode + 15W reverse charging, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The monitor is also TÜV Rheinland certified for blue light reduction, anti-flicker, and anti-glare protection.

The release puts MSI in direct competition with new QD-OLED and WOLED gaming panels from LG and Hisense. LG’s UltraGear 27GX704A offers a similar 26.5-inch 240Hz QHD WOLED display, while Hisense’s G7 Ultra pushes a 4K Mini LED panel at 160Hz with over 1,100 dimming zones.
