MSI introduces MAG A10, an ergonomic chair focused on long-session comfort

MSI has released the MAG A10, an ergonomic gaming chair aimed at users who spend long hours seated for either gaming or work. The chair enters the market at 2,499 yuan (about $354) in China and focuses on providing steady back support through a mix of structural reinforcement and incremental comfort features. Rather than chasing flashy aesthetics, the MAG A10 frames itself as a practical option built around MSI’s Ergo Cool design, emphasizing durability, adjustability, and sustained comfort.

The chair’s specifications reflect that intent. It supports up to 150 kilograms and weighs 25.6 kilograms, with dimensions that give it a stable footprint: 70.5 cm in width, 71 cm in depth, and 114 cm in height. MSI uses a Class-4 gas lift for height adjustments, paired with anti-explosion protection — a standard safety feature in higher-end office and gaming chairs. The aluminum alloy base adds rigidity, while the 75 mm polyurethane casters are designed to glide on most surfaces without scraping or generating unnecessary noise.

A notable component of the MAG A10 is its dynamic pivot-following backrest. Instead of relying entirely on manual adjustments, the backrest shifts in response to the user’s movements, aiming to keep the lower back supported across postures. The chair also offers a recline range from 100° to 135°, along with resistance control for users who want a firmer or looser lean. For those who prefer more precise configuration, the lumbar system is manually adjustable in four directions — forward, backward, up, and down — accommodating a wide range of sitting habits. The 2D headrest, which adjusts for both height and angle, is included to improve neck alignment and reduce strain over time.

The seating surface uses high-density foam wrapped in MSI’s waterproof Ergo-Coll fabric, a choice that prioritizes long-term wear resistance over softer but less durable materials. The backrest incorporates a mesh layer to encourage airflow during extended sessions, addressing a common comfort issue with fully padded gaming chairs that tend to trap heat.

One of the more versatile elements is the set of 4D carbon fiber-textured armrests. These adjust in height, depth, width, and rotation, and they move in sync with the chair’s tilt mechanism to maintain consistent arm support. For users who shift frequently between typing, controller use, and passive sitting, this can contribute to better shoulder and elbow alignment.

The MAG A10 enters a competitive market where gaming chair manufacturers are increasingly focusing on ergonomics rather than oversized designs. Recent releases from other brands — such as Razer’s Counter-Strike 2 Dragon Lore Collection and Elgato’s Embrace chair — illustrate how companies are trying to differentiate through styling, materials, and more sophisticated posture support. MSI’s approach with the MAG A10 leans toward functionality and adjustability, offering a set of features aimed at long-term use rather than one-off visual appeal.
