Motorola Edge 50 Ultra: premium features, stylish design, affordable price

Motorola’s Edge 50 Ultra aims to disrupt the premium smartphone market with its combination of high-end specs, unique design, and competitive pricing. It embodies the “hello smARTphone” tagline with thoughtful choices that balance functionality and aesthetics.

Motorola goes beyond the usual glass and metal, offering finishes like real wood, suede and even a special “pearl polymer” edition. The Pantone Validated camera and display get a special “Peach Fuzz” colourway alongside more classic options. With brushed aluminum and curved edges, the Edge 50 Ultra looks as premium as it feels.

What You Get (and What You Don’t)

Motorola has strategically balanced features and cost:

  • Display: A large 6.7″ Super HD+ with a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate is great for gaming, even if it has lower pixel density than some rivals.
  • Cameras: No periscope zoom, but a solid setup led by a 50MP main sensor with OIS, plus ultrawide, telephoto (3x optical), and even a 50MP autofocus front camera.
  • Power and Storage: Where it truly shines- Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, and up to a massive 1TB storage with 16GB RAM options, outpacing many flagships at this price.
  • Battery: 4,500mAh for all-day use, plus 125W wired and 50W wireless charging rivaling the best.

Motorola’s light touch on Android 14 focuses on customization, gestures, and AI features for a streamlined experience.

Pricing and Availability:

Coming soon to Asia, Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. Starting price of 699 EUR for the 12GB/512GB model.
