Microsoft brings AI-powered insights to Power BI mobile with Copilot

Microsoft has announced the integration of Copilot, its AI-powered assistant, into Power BI Mobile apps. This new feature empowers users to access and analyze data on their mobile devices, making data-driven decision-making possible from anywhere.

With Copilot in Power BI Mobile, users can generate report summaries and gain insights with a simple tap. For instance, users can quickly obtain an executive summary of a report to grasp key takeaways without needing to delve into the details.

To access Copilot, users can tap the Copilot button located in the report header. This opens a pane where users can ask Copilot for a summary or insights related to the report. Copilot also offers suggested prompts to guide users in exploring their data further.

The AI-generated summaries provided by Copilot are interactive. Users can tap on data references within the summary to view the corresponding visuals in the report. These visuals remain interactive, allowing for further exploration through drill-down or drill-up actions.

Copilot also facilitates easy sharing of insights. Users can copy the AI-generated summary, which includes a link to the report, and share it with others. This allows recipients to access the full report for a deeper dive into the data.

Microsoft’s integration of Copilot into Power BI Mobile represents a significant step towards making data more accessible and actionable for everyone. This update is part of Microsoft’s broader effort to democratize data analysis and empower users to make informed decisions regardless of their location. The company plans to further expand Copilot’s capabilities in the future, offering users even more powerful ways to leverage their data using Power BI.
