Just few days after Samsung’s Galaxy Fold’s announcement, Huawei reveals its very own 5G foldable phone called the Mate X at MWC19. And, to be honest, it look MUCH better than Samsung’s. Huawei is calling it “the world’s fastest foldable 5G phone.”

the Mate X has a thin 8-inch wraparound OLED display, a 4,500mAh battery, and running on Huawei’s own Kirin 980 processor.
When the device is folded the screens are 6.6-inch (2,480 x 1,148) on the front with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and a 6.38-inch display (2,480 x 892) with 25:9 aspect ratio on the rear. Open, the Mate X, is almost a square tablet with a larger 8-inch (2,480 x 2,220) screen with 8:7.1 aspect ratio.

Huawei calls the folding hinge the Falcon Wing hinge, and it allows the Mate X to lay completely flat, measuring 5.4mm thin. The Mate X rocks a 4,500 mAh battery and is charged through a USB-C port on the bottom side of the grip. There is also a fingerprint sensor on the side, doubling as a power button.

The Chinese tech giant said the phone will start at a price of 2299 euros (approximately $2600), and will be available in the middle of 2019.
